About Me

My name is Nik AKA  Bridget of the North. I am 27 years old and I currently live in Newcastle upon Tyne (Home town of  Ant & Dec, The Tyne Bridge & Geordie Shore) I have been living here six years now and I LOVE it! I’m originally from Middlesbrough (Home town of  Chubby Brown, Smoggies & Parmesans) I moved here to live with my partner who then became my husband,but unfortunately (for him) it didn’t work out.

I  decided to create this blog when I was at a crossroads in my life, trying to understand myself, my mental health and the world around me.  I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder 6 years ago and through years of therapy I have learnt to get a handle on my emotions (most of the time) and I am in recovery. Being ‘on the borderline’ changes my everyday life and the way I live it as opposed to those without the disorder.

As you will see throughout the blog, I have shared (and will continue to do so) with you some of my stories and findings on my journey to understand, also you will see the pro’s of BPD as well as the cons…So welcome to the world of Borderline Personality Disorders.

I’ve always been broad minded and I’m not one to follow the crowd, I have always been true to myself. So I will cover a wide range of topics, whatever I’m interested in at the time or whatever relates to my present happenings in life.

 Although this blogs main focus is on my findings and my journey, its also about me letting my inner self out and fulfilling my destiny.

Being a single mother (or a married mother in fact) is a full time job alone, its hard to keep up with the latest trends & live the glamorous life we all dream of.

 I’m not however, your average Geordie shore house mate…I’m far from it in fact. I like the regular girly things but can be mostly found in jogging bottoms and a scruffy ponytail when I’m at home, I could do with losing a few pounds, hardly ever go to the gym, even though I insist I will start getting the most out of the £42 a month Gym Membership! I spend far more than I earn, I  go streaky if I  apply fake tan (So I don’t bother), I have been known to glue my lips together with nail glue and cannot live without extensions as my hair hasn’t grown a cm in years. I can easily create an awkward moment and have a habit of putting my foot in it.

So as you’ll see I’m more of a Bridget Jones type so be sure to keep stopping by to keep track of my latest adventures!
